Kenyan TV. Program embrace Tobacco Control PDF Print E-mail

 

Recently, ‘Tahidi High School’, a popular program aired on citizen T V. had something spectacular for viewers who watched it keenly. Airing a program of students smoking in the school compound, they are found, punished and later shown the pictures on the effects of tobacco.  The students looked shocked, that they were putting their lives at risk, by engaging in smoking.

It is worth noting that pictures are powerful tools of communication. They motivate behavioral change and communicate directly to the smokers. They reinforce the message.

KETCA members review Public Education Campaigns PDF Print E-mail

 

altNovember 22nd 2010, Kenya Tobacco Alliance (KETCA) Action group on Public Education held a meeting that aimed at reviewing their work for the past one year. Earlier on, KETCA sponsored some member organizations in different towns in the country to conduct public education campaigns.

KETCA training of the Tobacco Control Board PDF Print E-mail
altKenya Tobacco Control Alliance (KETCA) in conjunction with the Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation (MPHS) held a workshop for training of Tobacco Control Board (TCB) on 13th-15th June at Bracken Hurst Hotel in Limuru. The workshop was meant to sensitize TCB to undertake its role in tobacco control in order to increase its involvement in all matters of tobacco control in Kenya.
