A manager with a tobacco company in Migori town was charged with causing grievous harm to a trade unionist. Crispin Otieno of Alliance Tobacco was charged with attacking the

secretary general of the Kenya Anti-Tobacco Growers Association (KATOGA) at Achuth Rongo District. The official was in the company of journalists on a fact-finding mission on

the plight of farmers when the alleged incident took place.
He denied the charges and was released onsh.50, 000 bond with a surety of similar amount. The case will be mentioned on July 14 and the hearing set for September 17, 2009
